There have been a lot of good observant people on the beach this year helping to save sea turtles.  Bogue was observed in distress and the state officials were called.  Coming to the rescue once again was State sea turtle biologist Wendy Cluse.

S/he was seen in distress by vacationers/residents just off the shoreline in Morehead City (Bogue Sound).  First attempt by THE STATE to locate her was unsuccessful.   After some time of searching, Wendy returned home, hoping the turtle wasn't really in distress after all.  Before shoes could be removed, another call came through, and the turtle had been located and was being corralled by other vacationers until Wendy could return to the scene.
  The turtle was putting up very little fight; was very emaciated and covered in barnacles and was head-to-toe covered in leeches as well.  The vacationers helped Wendy load her up in the truck, asked if she could be named Crush, and said they looked forward to checking up on her on the website.  (ed. note, we already have two Crush's so this turtle is named Bogue, after Bogue Sound).
