THE STRANDING Curtis Tyndall was tending to his flounder nets when he came across a sea turtle in distress.  He could see a large stainless steel hook, the type used for shark fishing, piercing her tongue and imbedded into the mouth. Curtis picked the large turtle out of the water and placed into his boat.  The turtle was then corralled by two coolers.  Weighting the coolers and guarding the sea turtle were Curtis's daughter Caitlin and her friend Matthew.  Together they named this turtle Crush.
Curtis phoned his wife, who then made arrangements with the KBSTRRC for transportation.  Curtis went all the way, boating the turtle in and then driving her in his truck for eventual hand-off to our staff.
When asked what prompted him to help he said "That's just the way I am.  I could see that hook wasn't going anywhere."
Thanks Curtis.
THE TREATMENT The hook was removed.
, Crush is renamed PROGRESS to thank Progress Energy for their gift of Satillite tag and time.
